Each year 27 million patients visit a dentist but not a physician, according to Cecile A. Feldman, Dean of Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. President Robert L. Barchi announced he will add $20 million to extend the Rutgers Faculty Diversity Hiring Initiative to support the recruitment and retention of new faculty members from diverse and underrepresented backgrounds. The strategic funds extend the initiative – which originally committed $22 million through 2021 –  through June 2024.
